    NPFL Super 6: Nwachukwu Restores Insurance Unbeaten Run With Enyimba Draw

    Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin,on June 7,2023, forced Enyimba FC of Aba to a 1-1 draw,making it their third draw and three points so far in the ongoing Nigeria Premier Football League ( NPFL) championship playoffs at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium,Onikan, Lagos.

    Enyimba FC had taken the lead in the 22 minutes of play with Sadiq Abubakar who shot from about 25 yards to put his side in front.

    The Benin Arsenals came from behind in a spectacular fashion to cancel Sadiq Abubakar’s  22 minutes goal courtesy of their star Midfielder Divine Nwachukwu’s classy header in the 36th minute of of the superb game. Divine Nwachukwu’s  goal against Enyimba FC was his second in their last two matches of the Super Six and his third goal of the season.

    Bendel Insurance FC and Enyimba FC met twice in the regular season with the former beating the later in Benin 1-0 and got a 1-1 in the revised fixture in Aba.

    Insurance FC need to beat their next opponents Rivers Utd on Friday,June 9,2023 at the same Mobolaji Johnson Stadium to fully remain in contention for the league title and continental play ticket. Kick off time for the game which promises to be a cracker is 2:00 PM.

    The defending champions Rivers Utd have four points from two matches and will be facing Lobi Stars in their third match and last game of day-3 fixtures. White the pride of Rivers finished as leaders of Group B, Insurance FC also finished as Group A leaders with 34 points apiece in the regular abridged league season.

    The invincible Benin Arsenals have now extended their unbeaten run to 21 in the current football season to set new record.

    Insurance will be facing Rangers International of Enugu in the final match of the 2023 Federation Cup next week in Asaba,Delta state.
