    Nigeria Set to Host 13th ECOWAS African Wrestling Championship as Part of ECOWAS 50th Anniversary Celebrations

    Nigeria is set to host the 13th ECOWAS African Wrestling Tournament in Abuja from March 6-8, 2025, as part of celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the West African regional body.

    In collaboration with the National Sports Commission (NSC), the event will be staged the Velodrome, Package A of the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, bringing together top wrestling talents from across the West African subregion.

    NSC Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko and Director General Hon. Bukola Olopade welcomed the opportunity for Nigeria to host the tournament, assuring that the country will deliver a hospitable and world-class event.

    The championship is expected to strengthen regional sports ties while showcasing Nigeria’s growing stature as a hub for international sporting events.
