The Nigeria Archery Federation(NAFED), has commended the Chief of Defence Staff for the sponsorship of the just concluded Nigeria Armed Forces Archery championship held in Abuja from 25-27 March 2026.
President of NAFED, HRH. Mohammed Baba Abdullahi made the commendation on behalf of the Federation while analysing the impact of the Championship on the participating teams.
Although the Nigerian Army emerged tops at the end of the three-day exercise, the President insists that the medals and the overall giant trophy were fiercely contested for by all the participating teams with the Navy and Air Force not seen as pushovers.
As a special guest at the championship in his capacity as the President of Nigeria Archery and accompanied by the Vice President,
Abdullahi is of the opinion that Nigeria would have won more medals than she did at the last African championship if the armed forces shooters no in the team based on their skill, sharp and accurate shooting abilities.
Praising the participants for standing tall in the game, the President charged the teams to also exhibit the same skill at the forthcoming Archery National Championship holding from 20-26 April, 2026 in Abuja.
