High-rising Grassrunners FC ran riot at home against Just John FC in an N -Youth League game played on Tuesday at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, Ogun State, as they annihilated their opponents 5-2.

The pulsating encounter, which was full of drama, intrigue and non – stop actions, saw the host taking an early lead in the 8th minute through Timileyin Anuoluwa Adelabu who helped himself with a brace in the match, but Just John hit back almost immediately to level score at 1-1.

The visitors even went ahead 1-2 to silence the home crowd who were stunned by the equaliser. They however leveled things up before the half time interval, 2-2 via another Timileyin Anuoluwa Adelabu strike.

The commencement of the second half saw Grassrunners take full advantage of their youthfulness as fatigue set in on their older opponents, netting three more goals with no response from Just John FC. Two goals from Abdoulaye Said Agbejoye and a goal from
Papi Adeola Agbejoye sealed a 5 -2 victory for Grassrunners who now lead on the table.

The match could easily have ended with more goals had the strikers of Grassrunners been more clinical as they wasted many begging opportunities to increase the tally.
