Morocco secured a convincing 2–0 victory over Cameroon to book their place in the top four, delivering a composed and tactically disciplined performance that underlined their growing status as one of Africa’s elite sides. In a keenly contested encounter, the Atlas Lions showed maturity and efficiency, taking their chances at crucial moments while keeping a resilient defensive shape that frustrated their opponents throughout the match.

The breakthrough came in the first half through Brahim Díaz, whose moment of brilliance lifted Morocco and shifted the balance of the game. Latching onto a well-worked attacking move, the forward showed great composure to finish clinically, leaving the Cameroonian goalkeeper with little chance. The goal rewarded Morocco’s early dominance and gave them control of the tempo as they dictated play with confident passing and intelligent movement.

Cameroon attempted to respond with increased urgency after the interval, pushing higher up the pitch in search of an equaliser. Despite creating a few promising moments, the Indomitable Lions struggled to break down Morocco’s organised defence, marshalled expertly by a disciplined back line and supported by a midfield that pressed relentlessly and closed spaces efficiently.

Morocco sealed the victory in the second half when Ismael Saibari doubled the lead, capitalising on a lapse in the Cameroonian defence. His well-taken goal not only dampened Cameroon’s hopes of a comeback but also highlighted Morocco’s attacking depth and ability to punish mistakes. From that point on, the Atlas Lions managed the game with confidence, maintaining possession and limiting Cameroon to long-range efforts.

The result sends Morocco into the top four with momentum and belief, reinforcing their credentials as serious contenders for the title. For Cameroon, the defeat marks a disappointing end to their campaign, as they were unable to match Morocco’s composure and cutting edge. As the tournament progresses, Morocco will look to build on this performance, knowing that both their defensive solidity and attacking flair make them a formidable challenge for any opponent.
