Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has congratulated Prince Nduka Obaigbena, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of the THISDAY Media Group and ARISE News Channel, on his 64th birthday anniversary.
According to a statement made available to journalists on Friday, Kalu noted the contributions of Obaigbena in the growth of the journalism profession in Nigeria and the African continent.
Deputy Speaker said that despite the challenges confronting the media industry, THISDAY Newspaper and Arise TV are competing favorably with many  media brands on the African continent.
Kalu, while describing Obaigbena as a colossus who has, through his own consistent and concerted efforts, supported the ambitions of many in the profession, said: “I congratulate my friend and brother, the media guru, Prince Nduka Obaigbena, as he turns 64 today. His tremendous contributions in the media industry are well noted and the impact immensely felt. He has contributed a great deal in the promotion of the journalism profession in the country and beyond.
“Asides his laudable innovations that have shaped Nigeria’s media industry for decades, Obaigbena has also played notable roles in the Nigeria’s Political Reform. As he turns 64, I wish him a wonderful birthday celebration and many more fruitful years ahead.”
