The International Association of Ultrarunners (IAU) recently concluded its 2025 elections for the Executive Council and Area Representatives, marking a significant milestone in the organization’s history.
The elections took place on October 17, 2025, in Albi, France, during the IAU 24H World Championships.
In a statement, IAU President Nadeem Khan expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing council members, acknowledging their tireless efforts and dedication to advancing the sport of ultrarunning globally. The outgoing members include Vice President Robert Boyce, General Secretary Hilary Walker, Directors Jacek Bedkowski, Hilmy Aboud Said, Paco Rico, and Diana Amza, who stepped down mid-term. André Mingneau, joined the council as Director in May 2024, also received appreciation for his valuable contributions.
President Khan also thanked the area representatives, Arturo Fabian Campanini Lopez (Americas), Solomon Ogba (Africa), Nagaraj Adiga (Asia & Oceania), and Gregorio Zucchinali (Europe), for their outstanding work and commitment to the IAU. Additionally, he acknowledged the Athletes Commission, various IAU committees, and the committee responsible for organizing the IAU’s 40th anniversary celebration for their invaluable contributions.

President Khan welcomed the new council and expressed optimism for the future of the organization, highlighting the importance of collaboration and dedication to advancing the sport of ultrarunning globally. With the new council in place, the IAU is poised to continue its mission to promote and develop ultrarunning worldwide
