Ahead of Sundays final match of the 2022/23 Nigeria women football league Premiership super six tournament in Asaba Delta state, the head coach of Delta Queens Fc of Asaba Tosan Blankson has expressed confidence that his wards will rise to the occasion on home soil against current NWFL champions, Bayelsa Queens of Yenegoa, when both teams faceoff in Sunday final match of the NWFL premiership super six tournament in Asaba.
He told Sportsday correspondence on Saturday afternoon that this is the moment he has been waiting for, adding that he has prepared his team for tomorrow epic final just as he hope to win the tournament for the Governor of Delta state,
” Am happy we made it to the final, is been a long journey and hard work, this is the moment I have been waiting for, I will be glad to win the super six tournament for my state and for the new Governor, Blankson stated.
It has been a long journey of hard work and commitment, am grateful to the players and officials of Delta Queens Fc, for their dedication, but above all the Delta state government, the Delta sports commission, for their massive support.
“I can only hope for the better and win the super six tournament to thank everyone for their wonderful support, I am not underrating my opponent but I just want to win and win for Delta state Blankson posited.
Delta Queens fc thrashed Confluence Queens 3-1, before playing a goaless draw against rival Edo Queens of Benin city to finish top of group B with four points, scoring three goals and conceding one to reach Sunday’s final match against Bayelsa Queens.
Meanwhile, Rivers Angels will battle for the third place medal against Confluence Queens of Lokoja by 12noon before the grand finale at 4pm.
Both matches will take place inside the magnificent Stephen keshi international stadium in Asaba Delta state.
