One of Nigeria’s fastest growing event, in the calendar of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), and the World Athletics (WA), the Dynamic Athletics Meet has announced the confirmed date for the this year’s competition.

According to the organizers of the meet, now in its 3rd edition, the one day competition has been scheduled for July 4, at the tracks of the Yaba College of Technology, in Yaba, Lagos.

Announcing the date, the Head, Dynamic Athletics Media and Sports Management Limited, Olabanji Ayegbusi notes that over time, the meet which made its debut in 2024, has grown in leaps and bounds; gaining significant backing from key stakeholders within the athletics community, and that includes former athletes, veteran coaches, corporate brands, and the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN).

Ayegbusi also described the upcoming meet, as strategically positioned, being that it is a precausor to the 2026 Commonwealth Games, scheduled to hold in Glasgow, Scotland, from July 23 to August 2, 2026.

“The event is expected to serve as a crucial preparatory platform, where both elite athletes will have the opportunity to fine-tune their performances, while emerging home-based talents can aim for improved results and greater exposure”, he added.

However, Ayegbusi emphasized the need for increased support for satellite meets like his, asserting that doing so woud help elevating the competition into one of the premier athletics meets in West Africa.

He noted that the previous edition attracted participants from countries such as Benin Republic, Côte d’Ivoire, and a lot of Nigerians.

“With the right level of support, the Dynamic Athletics Meet will continue to provide athletes with a valuable platform to showcase their talent, and deliver outstanding performances,” he concluded.

The event, an open athletics championship, is scheduled to take place at the Yaba College of Technology Sports Complex, a venue widely regarded as one of the fastest tracks in Nigeria, having produced numerous outstanding performances over the years.

Ayegbusi was also full of praise, for the leadership of the AFN, saying the federation partnered with his organization, hence it was tagged the AFN/Dynamic Athletics Meet 2025.
