Royal Sky Media Academy, Ibadan, held an induction and colourful orientation ceremony on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, that ushered in the 7th batch of students to commence training that will soon qualify them as industry-ready broadcasters in an event that blended vision, mentorship, and industry relevance.

Delivering the welcome address, the Proprietor, Dr. Asiwaju Enitan Olusegun Bamidele (JP), set the tone with a speech that was both philosophical and practical. With profound gratitude to God and visible pride, he described the ceremony as a historic moment, not just for the students, but for the academy itself.

His words: “What we are witnessing today is not just another date on the calendar, but a beginning of a new chapter in your lives and another glorious chapter in the evolving story of this great institution.”

The proprietor, popularly known as EOB, central to his message was the symbolism of the number seven. Across cultures and disciplines, he noted, seven represents completion, maturity, and excellence; seven days make a week, seven notes create music, and seven colours form the rainbow.

“By that measure, Batch 7 is not an ordinary cohort; it represents consolidation, maturity, and a higher level of institutional excellence. You are not here by accident; you are here by purpose, by choice, and by destiny,” he told the students.

In presenting the Academy as “your passport to the media world,” Dr. Bamidele emphasized its foundational mission: to develop professionals who are competent, ethical, confident, and fully prepared for the industry. From humble beginnings, he explained, the institution has grown into a respected training ground, producing graduates who are not just employed but are shaping narratives across radio stations, studios, and production houses within and beyond Ibadan.

In a significant portion of his address, the proprietor paid glowing tribute to the academy’s instructors, describing them as the backbone, torchbearers, and bridge between theory and real-life practice. “You do not just teach skills,” he said. “You mold character, shape confidence, and ignite purpose.”

The high point of the ceremony was the presence of the guest speaker, Alhaji Abolade Salami, general manager of Fresh Nigeria FM 105.9, Ibadan, who was described by EOB as a man of rare pedigree and outstanding professional standing. “Salami embodies the convergence of managerial capacity, ethical orientation, and strategic leadership. His career trajectory represents what every aspiring broadcaster should aim to become: competent, disciplined, visionary, and impactful.”

By inviting a sitting industry executive to address new entrants, Royal Sky Media Academy reinforced its industry-facing orientation. Students were not merely hearing abstract theories; they were engaging, from day one, with the realities and expectations of contemporary media practice.

Dr. Bamidele expressed deep appreciation for Salami’s willingness to invest his time and experience in shaping young minds, describing it as an act of nation-building and professional mentorship. His presence, the proprietor said pointedly, “is not by coincidence; it is a gift of opportunity.”
