Everton Keen To Sign Salernitana’s Boulaye Dia

According to a report by La Città di Salerno, Everton are pushing for the signatures of Boulaye Dia. The 26-year-old striker has been in sensational form over the last 12 months, and the Toffees are keen on having him in their ranks. They are ready to offer Neal Maupay in the deal to land Dia from Serie A club Salernitana.

However, Everton are not the only club interested in the Senegalese striker. Serie A club Fiorentina have been closely monitoring the 26-year-old for a while and have been making moves of late to land him at the club.

Dia moved to Salernitana from Villarreal in the summer of 2022. He initially joined them on a season-long loan which has been made permanent in the ongoing window. Despite signing a permanent bid with the Serie A club, the 26-year-old could still be on the move in the ongoing window because of the amount of interest in his services.

The Senegalese international had a sensational 2022/23 season where he featured in a total of 33 matches. He was on the pitch for just over 2500 minutes and managed to contribute towards 22 goals. The 26-year-old found the back of the net on 16 occasions and even bagged six assists.

Dia has been subject to a lot of interest because of his heroics last season. Meanwhile, the former Villarreal forward’s contract with the Serie A club runs until the summer of 2026. With three years still left on his deal, Salernitana will have the upper hand while negotiating his departure. As a result, it won’t be easy to prise him away.

Everton are keen on having the 26-year-old in their ranks. The Toffees struggled throughout last season, they somehow managed to avoid relegation. And, are now looking to bolster their squad to ensure they don’t have to fight for survival next season.

The Merseyside club were the second-lowest-scoring team in the division last season with just 34 goals in their 38 matches. As a result, their priority is to sign a new forward, with El-Bilal Toure another target. And Everton have their eyes set on Dia.

They are ready to put forward a player-plus-cash deal to secure his signatures. Everton are ready to offer 26-year-old forward Neal Maupay for the services of Senegalese international, who has a €25 million release clause. Maupay had a poor 2022/23 season with just two goal contributions. As a result, the Toffees are ready to part ways with him just one year after signing him from Brighton.
