Chukwuemeka Obioma, the top scorer in the Nigeria Premier League (NPL), 2022/2023 season, is in hot demand from clubs within and outside Africa.

But the reigning Nigerian champions on whose colour the prolific forward netted 16 goals to win the top scorer’s gong last season is not leaving anything to chance in order to keep and hold back their prized jewel, as it has been gathered that the former African champions are tabling a whooping N1 million monthly wage to the player to stay particularly as they would be campaigning in the CAF Champions League.

Obioma is the only player to score a hat-trick in the recently concluded 2022/2023 season to underscore his lethal form in front of goal. He finished as the league’s top scorer with 16 goals

Top European and African clubs are struggling for his signature, even as the Peoples Elephants, it has been gathered are asking for €.5 million and it has been scooped that the deals are being negotiated.

But on the other hand, NPFL champions are considering paying N1,000,000 to see if they can commit the player to the club further.
