Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Rangers International FC, has continued its move to enhance the growth of the club through partnership with corporate bodies and institutions.

To this end, Rangers Management on Thursday announced a strategic partnership arrangement with the Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Enugu, during a visit to the Management of the Institute led by the Rector, Professor Dr. Gozie Ogbodo.

In his address during the visit, Rangers General Manager, Barrister Amobi Ezeaku, who described the initiative as timely said the purpose of the development is to provide students of the institution and players of Rangers with educational opportunities that will be supported with sporting excellence.

“We are all aware of the important role that education plays in every career we engage in”. “Therefore we want to make sure we discover players that will be able to back up their careers with education beyond their activities on the pitch”.

The young football administrator further explained the purpose of the initiative in clear terms.

“Recently, we came up with the idea of having a female football team, and, that we have actualized with the formation of the Rangers Women’s FC”.

“Therefore, we are looking forward to having an academic program that will have 30% of the players enrolling in the institution (IMT)”.

This will no doubt create a way for the players to be properly involved in educational pursuits”.

Ezeaku added, “this moment is significant because it will be the first time in years that the two parties will be engaging formally”.

“It’s a timely venture that can’t be overlooked, since Rangers and this institution are like “Irish twins” which came into existence, three years in between them, Ezeaku stated”.

While responding, Professor Ogbodo commended Rangers Management for their approach in the area of social corporate responsibility and the development of players.

He disclosed that the institution will be fully involved in the innovation proposes by Rangers.

“Rangers has once again displayed how a football club should be run. I’m pleased to inform you that this is a process we can’t afford not to be part of”.

“We will immediately task our legal team to liaise with Rangers Management as a way of putting in place a conducive process that will ensure full compliance of the collaboration.

Other members of the Rangers delegation were the Secretary, Barrister Alex Egbo and Chairman Rangers Foundation, Ebere Amaraizu.
