The Edo State Football Association is gearing up for the maiden edition of the Benjamin Tanimu Football Tournament, scheduled to kick off on April 10, 2025. This exciting event is designed for under-15 youth clubs in Edo State, and it’s being held in honour of former Bendel Insurance FC captain, Benjamin Tanimu.
According to the chairman of the Edo state Football Association, Fred Newton Erhunmwunse, the registration for the tournament has since commenced with a deadline of April 2nd 2025. He asked interested teams to visit the Edo FA secretariat at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City to register their teams and get further information about the tournament that is proudly sponsored by the Crawley Town Fc of England and Super Eagles Defender.
” The much awaited Benjamin Tanimu Football Tourney is here, you recall we started the process in January this year with the Press Parley but had to shift the event to April holidays to enable the kids be available after their school exams,
“Registration has since commenced, but will end April 2nd 2025, the draw is scheduled for April 6th 2025 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, the tournament will kick off April 10th 2025, while the third place/ Final matches will hold 10th May 2025, the Edo FA chairman conclude.
The tournament promises exciting rewards, including winning prizes, trophies, medals, and other souvenirs for the victorious teams. The Edo FA boss, Fred Newton Erhunmwunse, is urging interested teams to register quickly and be a part of this fantastic opportunity ¹.
