    Edo 2026: Niger Delta Games 2nd Edition Sets Stage For Thrilling Medal Battle

    The second edition of the Niger-Delta Games is seeing serious competition after day one, with all teams picking medals.

    Team Bayelsa took an early lead, entering day two with 5 straight gold medals, leaving Team Delta on their trail with 4 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze medals. Team Edo is in third spot with 3 gold, 1 silver, and 4 bronze medals.

    Team Rivers is in 4th place with 1 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals. Hosts of the first edition, Akwa Ibom, are 5th on the medal log with 2 silver and 4 bronze.

    Team Imo is 6th with 2 silver and 2 bronze. Abia State and Cross River State have 1 silver and 1 bronze, respectively, placing them 7th and 8th.

    Team Ondo, yet to pick a medal, is hopeful as the medal table is expected to shift after day 2 events.

    Day one’s events show the readiness of all participating states in their quest for medal supremacy.

    In the first edition, Team Bayelsa emerged winners, leaving Team Delta and Edo in second and third position, respectively.
