    Diogo Jota, Liverpool and Portugal Star, Dies in Car Tragedy at 28

    Diogo Jota, the 28-year-old Liverpool and Portugal football star, died in a car crash early this morning, July 3, 2025, along with his 25-year-old brother, André Silva. The accident occurred on the A-52 highway in Zamora, Spain, where their Lamborghini Urus SUV veered off the road and burst into flames

    Just 11 days before his passing, Diogo Jota had married his wife, Rute Cardoso, on June 22 wasn’t confirmed but another source mentioned June 28, 2025. The couple had three children together. His wife had expressed her joy on their wedding day, writing, “My dream came true”. This devastating loss has sent shockwaves through the football world, with tributes pouring in from fans, teammates, and fellow players, including Cristiano Ronaldo

    – Gary Neville, former Manchester United player: “That is heartbreaking news on Diogo Jota and his brother. All my love and best”
