Igbo-ukwu Development Union (IDU) Onitsha Branch, and Pelwin Global FC are through to the final of the 62nd edition of the Igbo-ukwu Premier League; and the 5th Eze-Ezinwanne Ohamadike Cup.

Both sides progressed in similar fashion, after two intense, and high-scoring semi-finals, played at the Holy Trinity playground, in Igbo-ukwu.

IDU Onitsha Branch, tore the form books, by doing the improbable, that’s dumping the cup holders, IDU Lagos Branch in a five-goal thriller, that ended 3-2.

    In the second semifinal,
Pelwin Global FC thrashed Community-based side, Nwaezefunamba FC, by 3 goals to 1.

The finale, between IDU Onitsha Branch, and Pelwin Global FC, is scheduled to hold today, New Year Day at the Holy Trinity Field, Igbo-ukwu, starting from 3pm while ousted defending champions, Lagos Branch, will look to salvage some pride, when facing Nwaezefunamba FC in the Bronze medal, or 3rd place match; which the Chief Scribe of the Organizing Committee, Edochie Nkannebe said, precede the final.
