    Customs Command Tops NAF’s Fitness Competition: Bauchi/Gombe Team Wins Jogging Category

    The Bauchi/Gombe Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has emerged winner of the jogging category at the 2025 Annual 10-Kilometre Jogging and Walking Competition organized by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), Bauchi. The event, brought together participants from various security agencies, aimed at fostering unity, discipline, and physical fitness among personnel of Nigeria’s uniformed services.

    Leading his team of officers and men to the event, Customs Area Controller (CAC) Comptroller Sani Bello commended the organizers for providing a platform that strengthens inter-agency cooperation and promotes the culture of fitness and wellness within the security community.

    Speaking after the victory, Comptroller Bello applauded the outstanding performance and resilience displayed by his officers, attributing their success to teamwork, discipline, and consistent physical training. “This victory is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our officers,” he said. “It shows that with the right mindset and training, we can achieve great things.”

    Comptroller Bello emphasized the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between official duties and personal well-being, noting that physical fitness contributes significantly to operational efficiency and effectiveness. “As security personnel, we are often faced with challenging situations that require us to be physically and mentally fit,” he said. “This competition has shown that we are up to the task.”

    The Customs Area Controller reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to inter-agency collaboration and reiterated its alignment with the vision of the Comptroller-General of Customs,CGC Adewale Adeniyi, which emphasized professionalism, discipline, and the welfare of officers and men of the Service. “We will continue to work with other security agencies to promote unity and cooperation,” he said. “We are proud to have represented the Nigeria Customs Service with distinction.”

    The event was a success, with participants from various security agencies taking part in the 10-kilometre jog and walk. The competition was a great way to promote physical fitness and teamwork among security personnel, and the Bauchi/Gombe Area Command’s victory is a testament to their hard work and dedication.
