With just 20 days until race day, excitement is building across Africa as registration for the second edition of the PremiumTrust Bank Abuja City International Half Marathon has surpassed 2,800 participants.

The event, organised by Nigeria’s leading sports management company, Nilayo Sports Management Limited, continues to draw impressive interest from elite athletes, recreational runners, fitness enthusiasts, and corporate teams from across Nigeria and abroad.

As preparations intensify, Nilayo Sports Management Limited has confirmed that finishing touches are currently underway to ensure a world-class race experience. The company reaffirmed its commitment to delivering a seamless and memorable event for all participants, residents, and visitors to Abuja.

Speaking on the ongoing preparations, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Nilayo Sports Management Limited, Adenike Olopade, expressed confidence in the readiness of the organising team. She also extended gratitude to the Managing Director of Nilayo Sports Management Limited, Mrs. Yetunde Olopade, describing her leadership and coordination as visionary, inspiring, and instrumental to the success of the project.

“We are fully prepared and excited to welcome thousands of runners to Abuja. The team has worked tirelessly, and we appreciate the visionary leadership of our MD, Mrs. Yetunde Olopade, whose dedication has continued to drive excellence in delivering premium sporting events,” she said.

The Abuja Half Marathon, powered by a strategic partnership between PremiumTrust Bank and Nilayo Sports Management Limited, made its successful debut in 2024, earning praise for its professional organisation and impressive turnout.

This year’s edition, themed “Steady Strides,” aims to further deepen community participation, promote a healthy lifestyle, boost sports tourism, and spotlight Abuja as a growing hub for international road races.

The race will feature elite and recreational runners, with categories designed to accommodate professional athletes, amateur runners, fitness groups, families, and visitors looking to experience the vibrant atmosphere of Nigeria’s capital city.
