Rangers Int’l Head Coach, Fidelis Ikechukwu, on Wednesday cleared the air on his rumoured plan to leave the Enugu side.

The Super Eagles assistant coach rubished all social media reports that had claimed he was on his out of the former Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions.

Ikechukwu dropped the hint while celebrating with Rangers General Manager, Amobi Ezeaku, whose birthday took place on Wednesday at the club’s Corporate office in Enugu.

In a viral video posted by Talk Sports, Ikechukwu simply put it, “More five years contract”.

Reacting to the cheering development, the General Manager said, “(Rangers Technical adviser), in as much as I remain at the club, I will work with him”.

“Ilechukwu understands the philosophy and Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu state loves him”.

“So, if my governor says he loves the coach, who are you to say otherwise?”.

“He’s doing well, he has done well, he has won the league, disclosed Ezeaku.

Meanwhile, there had been speculations linking Coach Ikechukwu with a move to Kano Pillars, but, that has now been quashed.

The Flying Antelopes will next take on Bayelsa United in a Week 16 NPFL fixture on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, popularly known as “The Cathedral”.
