Bruno Fernandes couldn’t but failed to see the end of the match against man united as he was unlucky to stay through with his first yellow card, but occasion had him thumped with third red card of the season due to a second yellow card just 90 seconds into the second half which almost crumbled Wolves
Wolves won it all in the first period proving how dreadful they could be – testing Andre Onana with a Jorge Strand Larsen header, while Matheus Cunha proved the talisman once again with his driving runs. They stood strong against a very tough side, man united
The pressure was on United to come out stronger in the second period and give the travelling fans some festive cheer but captain Fernandes provided a moment of madness to hinder their chances.
Ruben Amorim couldn’t but expressed a great deal of sympathy for one of his best game changers, Bruno Fernandes right at the moment the red card danced into the air to mark his third.. All the 47th minutes could give was Fernandes sent off at Molineux due to a late challenge on Nelson Semedo meanwhile the first half turned against him being booked for a trip on Matheus Cunha.
The 30-year-old will be suspended for Monday’s Premier League fixture against Newcastle United.
“I will always be frustrated with a red card, but it can happen,” Amorim said after the game.
“He wanted to go for the ball. It’s not like he wanted to stop a play with a yellow — he wants to go to the ball. The other guy touched the ball first, and there was a contact. That thing is tough on him, also.” Amorim.
The manager Amorim who couldn’t but struggled to squeeze out 5 wins of 10 matches has the backings of Christiano Ronaldo saying man united will rise again with Amorim who sees his job under threats if he fails to bring back man united into their lost winning ways.
