Bendel Insurance, under the newly appointed head coach Kennedy Boboye, failed to secure a win in his second game in charge, as they were held to a goalless draw by Rivers United at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Thursday.

The draw marked the second consecutive game without a win for Boboye’s side, who had previously drawn 1-1 with Warri Wolves at home. Rivers United, managed by Finidi George, also struggled to find the back of the net, despite making tactical substitutions and adjustments in formation.

The point earned from the draw saw Bendel Insurance move up one spot to 18th in the table, while Rivers United jumped to 6th place with 17 points.

In a thrilling encounter, Nasarawa United came from behind to defeat Remo Stars 2-1 at the Lafia City Stadium.

Michael Ibe had given Remo Stars an early lead in the 6th minute, but Joshua John equalized for Nasarawa United in the 32nd minute. Collins Onovughe scored the winner with 11 minutes left on the clock, securing a crucial victory for the Solid Miners.

The win saw Nasarawa United reclaim the top spot in the NPFL log with 22 points, one point clear of Abia Warriors, who dropped to 2nd place.
