    Azeez and Glanton Dominate in Nigeria’s ‘Chaos in the Ring’ Boxing Event

    Nigeria made history with the “Chaos in the Ring” boxing event, a world-class spectacle that showcased the country’s growing reputation as a hub for international sports entertainment. The event, held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos on October 1, Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day, featured a star-studded lineup, including American cruiserweight fighter Brandon Glanton and 2012 Olympic Games boxer Marcus Browne, who faced off in the main event.

    The main event saw an explosive contest between American Cruiserwight fighter, Brandon Glanton against 2012 Olympic Games boxer, Marcus Browne.

    Fans witnessed pure grit and power as Glanton delivered a stunning knockout in round six, securing victory in one of the most tightly contested bouts of the evening.

    In another highly anticipated clash, Nigerian-born UK boxer and ex Commonwealth and European champion, Dan Azeez made an emotional return to fight in Nigeria for the very first time. Azeez thrilled fans as he faced Sulaimon Adeosun, earning a resounding victory by TKO in round four.

    Speaking after the event, Hon. Bukola Olopade, Director General of the National Sports Commission, applauded the significance of the event.

    “This symbolizes the excellence that Nigeria is known for. We had attendance from different continents, and tonight proves we are more than a football nation. This year alone, we have hosted international events in athletics, karate, arm wrestling, and more, and it has been magnificent.”

    The event was promoted by Amir Khan’s AK Promotions, in partnership with Balmoral Group Promotions, who together delivered a flawless spectacle that met global standards, with Bet9ja as official sponsor of the event.

    The prestigious night drew an illustrious audience, including His Excellency the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Minister of Finance Wale Edun, Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, Chairman of the National Sports Commission Mallam Shehu Dikko, Director General of the National Sports Commission Hon. Bukola Olopade, Director General of Lagos State Sports Commission Lekan Fatodun, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Chief Adeboyega Adeyinka Anthony, veteran journalist, Chief Dele Momodu, and Nigerian football legend, Victor Ikpeba.

    Adding further glamour, music icons Naira Marley, D’banj, and other top artistes lit up the arena with thrilling performances, ensuring the night was a perfect blend of world-class boxing and entertainment.
