The 5th edition of the Andoma Peace and Unity Basketball Tournament is set to conclude today at the Lafia City Hall in Nasarawa State, with the female and male finals promising to deliver thrilling action .
The tournament has been a resounding success, with teams from different backgrounds coming together to showcase their skills and sportsmanship. The event has not only promoted basketball but also served as a platform for fostering unity and peace among young people.
In the lead-up to the finals, teams put on impressive displays, with Ham Warriors and Titans emerging victorious in their respective matches. Suleja Bulldogs and Solid Heat also booked their spots in the male final with convincing wins.
The female final will feature Ham Warriors taking on Titans, while Suleja Bulldogs will face Solid Heat in the male final. Both matches are expected to be intense and closely contested.
The Andoma of Doma has commended the organisers for using basketball as a tool for promoting unity and harmony among young people. The tournament has indeed achieved its goal of bringing people together and providing a platform for young talents to shine.
Today’s finale will see champions crowned, but the true winners will be the community, which has benefited from the spirit of unity and sportsmanship displayed throughout the tournament.
