Prominent Ibadan-based media personality, Dare Adekanmbi, on Sunday hosted a gathering of Arsenal supporters in celebration of the club’s historic English Premier League 2025/26 title victory.

The event, held in Ring road side of Ibadan, attracted Arsenal fans and several notable personalities who joined in commemorating the North London club’s league success. Guests, many of whom wore Arsenal jerseys, were treated to an elaborate reception featuring food, drinks, cash gifts, and other giveaways.

As part of the festivities, a cow was slaughtered to provide refreshments for attendees, creating a festive atmosphere throughout the celebration anchored by Kenny Ogunmiloro, a prominent sports presenter with Fresh FM Ibadan.

Speaking during the event, Adekanmbi, who serves as Special Adviser on Media to the Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Zacch Adedeji, expressed his excitement over Arsenal’s achievement, describing it as a long-awaited moment for supporters of the club.

According to him, Arsenal’s Premier League triumph marked the first major silverware won by the club since he became a registered supporter in 1999.

“I was quite optimistic that we were going to win the league this season,” Adekanmbi said. “While discussing with a friend when Arsenal would likely be crowned champions, we projected that it could happen during the match against Burnley. Based on that projection, I purchased a match ticket for £1,650. Fortunately, our prediction came true, and I had the opportunity to watch the match live at the Emirates Stadium.”

Among the dignitaries present at the event was Mr. Soji Adedeji, who has been projected as a possible running mate to Barrister Sarafa Alli, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Oyo State. He expressed his delight at joining fellow Arsenal supporters to celebrate the club’s success.

Also in attendance was Dr. Yinka Ayefele, Chairman of Fresh FM Nigeria and a well-known Arsenal supporter, who joined other fans in marking the historic achievement.

The gathering underscored the passion of Arsenal supporters in Oyo State and highlighted the widespread excitement generated by the club’s Premier League triumph.
