The Nigeria Customs Service’s Lilypond Export Command has just dropped some exciting numbers, and they’re looking solid! In the fourth quarter of 2025, the command recorded a 9.56% growth in export trade, hitting a whopping $858.11 million.
Breaking it down, agricultural produce took the lead, raking in $568.27 million in exports. Comptroller Samuel Ariyibi, the Customs Area Controller, attributed this impressive feat to strategic stakeholder engagement, focusing on value and volume.
Speaking at his maiden press briefing in Lagos, Ariyibi highlighted the command’s efforts to boost export trade. “We initiated strategic engagements with critical stakeholders, emphasizing value, volume, and seamless processes,” he said. The command’s also strengthening measures to enhance legitimate export trade, building on existing achievements.
But that’s not all – export surcharge collections jumped to ₦208.54 million, up from ₦91.95 million in the same quarter last year. Ariyibi’s urging exporters to keep the trade chain integrity intact, saying, “Remain compliant, adhere to guidelines, and avoid trade infractions.”
The command’s committed to supporting stakeholders and facilitating legitimate exports, aligning with national economic objectives. Kudos to the Lilypond Export Command!
