Beacon Power Services (BPS), a leading Nigerian energy technology company, has reinforced its long-term commitment to youth development and structured athletic excellence by signing a three-year athlete sponsorship agreement with Making of Champions (MoC) Athletics Academy..The partnership will provide comprehensive Senior Secondary School scholarships and elite performance support for Rebecca Enilolobo and Destiny Reuben, two standout athletes discovered at MTN CHAMPS Season 3, from 2026 through 2028.Under the agreement, both athletes will complete their Senior Secondary education at Princeton College, Surulere, Lagos, while receiving integrated high-performance training at MoC Academy.T

his student-athlete scholarship will help prepare them to be strong contenders and potential medal prospects for Nigeria at the 2028 World Under-20 Championships.Beyond that horizon, both athletes are firmly on the pathway toward becoming Olympians — whether as breakthrough prospects for LA 2028 or emerging elite athletes for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games. The announcement follows MTN’s landmark three-year extension of MTN CHAMPS through 2028 and further strengthens Nigeria’s most structured sprint development ecosystem.A Proven Athlete Development Model Positioned for Future ImpactIn 2025 alone, the 20 Team MTN athletes at MoC Academy secured 10 international medals, 14 national medals, 38 MTN CHAMPS medals, and two Junior (U20) trophies — all within one year of entering a structured and focused development environment, demonstrating the measurable early return on investment of long-term corporate-backed talent development.

.Beacon Power Services was one of MoC Academy’s earliest corporate supporters. In 2020, during the pandemic, BPS sponsored MoC alum Gracious Ushie, supporting his education and athletics under a two-year scholarship. Ushie went on to earn a full Track & Field scholarship to the University of Southern Mississippi in 2023, where he is now in his third year — a powerful validation of the Academy’s student-athlete model.BPS also served as an Official Talent Search Partner for MTN CHAMPS Season 3, helping facilitate the identification and recruitment of Enilolobo and Reuben from competitions across Benin, Lagos, and Uyo.With MTN reaffirming its commitment to sponsor 20 MoC Academy athletes through LA 2028, the remaining eight athletes are now well positioned to also receive student-athlete sponsorships as the Academy expands its structured Olympic preparation model.Meet the BPS ScholarsRebecca Enilolobo (Ogun State)• Current School: Princeton College, Surulere, Lagos• School Recruited From: Egba Odeda Junior High School, Ogun State• Events: 100m / 200m• Personal Bests: 100m (12.07s) | 200m (24.77s)Enilolobo emerged from grassroots school screenings to become one of Nigeria’s most exciting youth sprint prospects. She won Silver in the 200m at the MTN CHAMPS Continental Relays in Lagos and secured Bronze medals in both the 100m and 200m at the Grand Final in Uyo.Her continental breakthrough came at the African School Games in Algeria, where she won GOLD for Nigeria in the Medley Relay. She later represented Nigeria at the African Youth Games in Angola, further establishing herself as a rising international competitor.

With structured academic and performance support now secured through 2028, her trajectory is clearly aligned toward becoming a leading figure for Nigeria at the World U20 level and beyond.Destiny Reuben (Rivers State)• Current School: Princeton College, Surulere, Lagos• School Recruited From: Aunty Iso International School, Okrika, Rivers State• Events: 100m / 200m• Personal Bests: 100m (11.11s) | 200m (22.80s)Born in the riverine community of Okrika in Rivers State, Reuben’s future once seemed destined for the oil fields or fishing boats that define much of his hometown. Athletics was never part of the plan — until his raw speed altered the trajectory of his life.He claimed GOLD in the Youth Boys’ 200m at MTN CHAMPS Benin before earning double Silver medals in the 100m and 200m at the Grand Final in Uyo, confirming that his early performances were no fluke.

His fearless racing style and composure under pressure reflect a maturity beyond his years. With three additional years of structured development ahead of the 2028 World U20 cycle, Reuben could emerge as a very strong junior sprint prospect for Nigeria at the global level.Corporate Leadership and Long-Term VisionSpeaking on the renewed commitment, Abimbola Adisa, CEO of Beacon Power Services, stated:“At Beacon Power Services, we believe that sustainable excellence requires structure, data and long-term planning. Our journey with MoC began in 2020, and we have seen firsthand what deliberate investment can achieve.By supporting Rebecca and Destiny through 2028, we are investing not only in two exceptional young talents, but in Nigeria’s long-term athletic future. We are proud to support MoC in backing a system that is transforming how athlete development is approached in this country.”MoC Founder and CEO, Bambo Akani, added:“

This partnership is about patience, structure and vision. The goal for Rebecca and Destiny is clear: complete their education, mature within a high-performance environment, and position themselves strongly for the 2028 World Under-20 Championships. With MTN confirming 20 athletes through LA 2028 and Beacon Power Services returning to support two more, we now have 22 out of 30 athletes fully backed for the current Olympic cycle. This is a rally call for all brands across Corporate Nigeria to join this movement as we build Olympic relay contenders, as well as individual finalists and medalists, for LA 2028, Brisbane 2032, and beyond.”About MoC Athletics AcademyFounded in 2016, MoC Athletics Academy has trained over 60 athletes across multiple sprint and relay disciplines. Its athletes have collectively won more than 100 national and international medals, with at least 13 earning full or partial scholarships within the U.S. collegiate system.MoC-trained athletes have represented Nigeria at the Olympics, World Championships, Commonwealth Games, World Relays, African Championships and African Games. With the advent of MTN CHAMPS in 2023, that development pathway has been significantly supercharged.

Within just one year of the first cohort of 20 athletes joining the Academy from MTN CHAMPS, measurable international and national success followed. With eyes firmly set on the 2026 and 2028 World Under-20 Championships, and ultimately the LA 2028 and Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games, the Academy’s corporate-backed model has emerged as a template for long-term athletic transformation in Nigeria.
