Victor Boniface, the Nigerian football star, recently underwent successful knee surgery in Innsbruck, Austria, addressing a long-standing issue that’s been affecting his performance.
The 25-year-old striker, currently on loan at Werder Bremen from Bayer Leverkusen, has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2025/26 season
Boniface’s surgery was performed by renowned knee specialist Prof. Dr. Christian Fink, and he’s now started rehabilitation, working with a physiotherapist to regain his strength and mobility. This setback is particularly tough for Boniface, who’s struggled with injuries throughout his career, including two anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries
Despite his limited appearances for Werder Bremen this season, Boniface showed promise with two assists in 11 league games. His absence will be felt by the team, but his loan deal with Leverkusen remains in place until June 30, 2026 .
The Super Eagles player has received messages of support from teammates, including Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze, wishing him a speedy recovery and encouraging him to return stronger.
As Boniface focuses on his recovery, fans are eager to see him back on the pitch.
