Horvel Angels and defending champions Fosla Academy have advanced to Saturday’s final of the 2025 HerGame Girls Football Championship after securing semifinal victories, at the Area 3 Sports Complex in Abuja.

Horvel Angels had defeated Generation Next 2–0 on Thursday, while Fosla Academy edged SIK Paragon 1–0 to stay on course for back-to-back titles.

Horvel Angels produced a dominant second-half display to outclass Generation Next, with forward Odide Lilian firing home in the 47th and 55th minutes.

Head coach Ogbada Atta praised his team’s execution, saying, “The girls were fantastic today. We studied the match carefully and made the right decisions in the second half. Their discipline and hunger earned this victory.”

He added, “Reaching the final is massive for us. We respect Fosla, but we are coming with full determination to win the title.”

Fosla Academy secured their place in the championship final through a composed and tactical 1–0 win over SIK Paragon, courtesy of Habila Patricia’s decisive strike just before halftime.

Head coach Christopher Igbuku lauded his players’ maturity, noting, “The girls showed calmness under pressure and stayed true to our structure. SIK Paragon pushed us, but the team responded with character.”

He continued, “Now we face Horvel Angels again, and we are ready. Finals are about mentality, and we are prepared to give everything.”

Interestingly, Fosla Academy and Horvel Angels met in the opening match of this year’s tournament, a tightly contested fixture that ended in a narrow 2–1 victory for Fosla.

Their rematch in the final sets the stage for a highly anticipated showdown, with both sides eager to assert dominance when it matters most.

The tournament will conclude on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the Area 3 Sports Complex, Abuja. The day begins with the third-place playoff between Generation Next and SIK Paragon at 2:30pm, followed by the championship final between Fosla Academy and Horvel Angels at 3:30pm.

The grande finale is expected to draw high-powered government functionaries, sports administrators, and key football stakeholders, reaffirming the competition’s rising importance and growing national appeal.
