    CYF Wraps Up 2nd  Phase of Lagos Prisons Sports Outreach

    It was indeed excitement galore for inmates at the Kirikiri Maximum Correction Centre, Apapa, Lagos on Saturday, 15 November, 2025, where the 2nd phase of the Lagos leg of the Prison Sports Outreach was held at the weekend.

    With the usual enthusiasm characteristic of the mini-sports fiester, the inmates who were divided into four groups, Faith, Love, Joy and Peace, really had fun competing among themselves in some sports like, Athletics, Basketball, Football, Table Tennis and Volleyball.
    Those who excelled received cash awards.

    Sponsored by the Christians Youth Foundation under the auspices of Ambassador Chucks Onyekwena, the outreach is aimed at renewing the hope of the inmates for them to know that their being confined in a particular environment for the time being is not the end of the world according to the supervisor, Ms Funmi Ogunro, CEO of the ‘Friends of the Deaf Foundation who spoke on behalf of the President, Ambassador Chucks Onyekwena.

    With the Medium Custodian Centre and the Maximum Prison legs now concluded, attention will now be shifted to the Enugu Prison come 6 December, 2025 for the next phase of the renew hope sports outreach being shouldered by Ambassador Chucks Onyekwena to round-up the domestic activities for the year, 2025 as we approach the year 2026.
