Governor Oborevwori expressed his pride and admiration for Team Delta’s outstanding achievement, which saw them emerge as overall champions with an impressive haul of 126 gold, 100 silver, and 111 bronze medals, totaling 337 medals. This remarkable feat reaffirms Delta State’s dominance as Nigeria’s sporting powerhouse. The governor recalled the state’s unmatched record of winning the National Sports Festival seven times consecutively, highlighting the team’s consistency and excellence.
As a token of appreciation, Governor Oborevwori presented cash rewards to the medalists, with:
– One Million Naira awarded to each gold medalist
– Five Hundred Thousand Naira awarded to each silver medalist
– Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira awarded to each bronze medalist
