The Super Eagles beat the Amavubi of Rwanda 1-0 in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
Nigeria had a tough start as star striker Victor Osimhen was off the pitch due to an early injury.
The first half ended in a goalless draw despite the Eagles dominating possession. Fortunately, in the 51st minute, New Wolves striker Tolu Arokodare scored to give Nigeria a 1-0 victory.
The strike proved decisive, as the Eagles held firm to secure all three points and keep their qualification hopes alive.
Nigeria is set to face South Africa in their next World Cup qualifying game Tuesday.
