Morocco defeated Madagascar to win the 2024 African Nations Championship, CHAN, title on Saturday.
The CHAN final ended 3-2 as they won Madagascar at the Moi International Sports Centre.
C. F. Manohantsoa had given Madagascar the lead in the 9th minute of the encounter.
But Youssef Mehri restored parity for the North Africans before Oussama Lamlaoui put Morocco in front before half-time.
In the second half, T. N. Rakotondraibe equalized for Madagascar, but a late goal from Lamlaoui ensured Morocco lifted the trophy.
This is Morocco’s third CHAN title in the last eight years.
The Atlas Lions had won the tournament in 2018 and 2020.
