Ibadan-based popular radio station Agidigbo 88.7 FM recently won the inaugural edition of the Atandamighty Super Soccer League. Following this achievement, the station’s proprietor, Dr. Oriyomi Hamzat, rewarded the team which consists of on-air personalities (OAPs) and technical staff with 500,000 naira.
Agidigbo FM triumphed over Success FM and secured a point against both Splash-Lagelu FM and Fresh FM, ultimately accumulating five points to become the league champion.

Upon welcoming the victorious team, Agidigbo FM’s CEO Dr. Hamzat expressed his pleasure and optimism that his boys would return with the cup, citing the team’s high positive spirit as the basis for his confidence. To incentivize the team, he declared a cash reward amounting to five hundred thousand naira.

During the closing ceremony, the Atandamighty Foundation, which organized the event, stated that the tournament’s primary aim is to bring together all media houses in the state and to motivate those who promote sports on air to demonstrate their abilities on the field as well, believing this will help them maintain physical fitness.

“Every participating media station received a cash token in appreciation of their involvement, while the winners went home with medals, a trophy, and a cash prize. We are planning to make the next edition even bigger and more exciting, as several media stations across the state have already indicated interest, and we are committed to raising the standard to a top-notch level,” said the organizer.

The organizer emphasized the importance of community engagement in promoting health and fitness. “We want to inspire more people to join us in this initiative and make it a regular part of their lifestyle,” they added.
