    3 Days to Kickoff: Six Nations Gather in Abeokuta for 3rd CAA U18/U20 Championships

    The city of Abeokuta is buzzing with excitement as the countdown to the 3rd African U18/U20 Athletics Championships hits three days.

    The influx of delegations continues, with South Sudan, Seychelles, and Congo arriving Nigeria ahead of the continental event that will draw young athletic talents from across Africa.

    The championship, taking place at the iconic MKO Abiola International Stadium, is already creating a festive atmosphere in Ogun State’s capital.

    The arrival of these countries further solidifies the tournament’s stature as one of the biggest youth athletics events on the continent.

    Meanwhile, powerhouses like Egypt, Botswana, and South Africa have also landed in Abeokuta as final logistics and preparations reach their peak. With several top-tier athletes in their ranks, these nations are expected to light up the track and field with world-class performances.

    Over 43 countries and nearly 1,000 athletes and officials are expected to participate in the event, which marks a major moment for Nigerian athletics and the broader African sports community.

    The National Sports Commission, alongside major sponsors such as the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Bank of Industry (BOI), and LEDCO Limited, has promised a world-class hosting experience.

    The championship officially kicks off in three days, with heats and ceremonies expected to thrill fans and dignitaries from across the continent from July 16-20th.
