In line with the renewed mission and vision of the National Sports Commission (NSC) under the leadership of Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko and Director General Hon. Bukola Olopade, the NSC is set to host a two-day capacity-building workshop aimed at empowering its sports officers and professionals at the Commission.

The workshop, which will take place from May 6th –7th at the Media Centre of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, is themed “Reset, Refocus and Relaunch the Nigerian Sports Sector for Greater Performance.”

It aligns with the NSC’s strategic direction to build a more vibrant and economically viable sports sector.

Tagged “Striving for Excellence,” the workshop is designed to equip NSC personnel — the key drivers of the Commission’s new agenda — with the tools, knowledge, and mindset required to elevate productivity and service delivery across the sports ecosystem.

The Director of Elite Athletes, Mr Olumide Bamiduro stated that “it is critical to train the sports officers because we aspire for them to work with updated knowledge of global best practices, especially at the elite level of sports performance. The initiative is a crucial step toward unlocking the full potential of the Sports Economy in Nigeria.”

He added that participants will engage in high-impact sessions focused on innovation, accountability, and strategic planning tailored to the Commission’s evolving goals.
