The management of Rangers International FC of Enugu has announced a strategic partnership with Eye Ball, a leading technology platform focused on talent development and performance analysis.
The collaboration, as revealed in a statement released on Thursday, April 30, 2025, by the General Manager and CEO of Rangers, Barrister Amobi Ezeaku, aims to digitally transform the club’s approach in performance assessment, from its youth ranks to the senior team.
The partnership also holds significant promise for both the academy and the professional setup of the main team, the Flying Antelopes.
For the Academicals and Youth teams, the integration of the Eye Ball platform will see young talents boarded onto a system that creates verified digital data profiles, comparable to any such platforms in advanced footballing nations, on the continent.
“These profiles will capture and showcase their skills through videos, comprehensive statistics, and key performance metrics; the digital footprint is expected to significantly enhance international visibility for these budding stars, potentially unlocking valuable scholarship opportunities”, the Rangers CEO asserted.
He added that the benefits will be extended to the senior team, where the club’s technical crew will gain access to sophisticated video and data analysis tools provided by Eye Ball.
“This will empower them to conduct in-depth evaluations of both their own players’ performances and dosect the tactical approaches of their opponents. Digitized match footage and player statistics will become integral to the team’s operations, aiding in crucial tactical decision-making, meticulous fitness monitoring, and proactive injury prevention strategies”, Barrister Ezeaku said.
Speaking on the transformative partnership, the CEO of Rangers expressed his conviction that the collaboration will reinforce the club’s belief that the future of football lies at the intersection of talent and technology.
With rivals, Remo Stars FC having won the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title, with three rounds of fixtures to go, the title defence of Rangers International is effectively over; and it does seem the only way they can grab one of the two CAF Confederation Cup tickets is to win the Nigeria President Federation Cup; where they face Plateau United FC of Jos in the quarterfinals on Saturday.
“We are proud to be one of the first professional clubs in Nigeria to embrace this level of digital transformation, and the long-term vision is that with Eye Ball, we are building a smarter football future – from the grassroots to the top”, he concluded.
It is therefore left to be seen how the alliance between Rangers International FC and Eye Ball marks a significant step forward in leveraging technology to enhance player development and on-field performance within Nigerian football.
