Agbere FC produced a composed performance in Matchday two of Nigeria’s biggest grassroots football spectacle, the Bayelsa Governor’s Football Tournament with a resounding four nil victory over Ebedebiri FC at the Sagbama Town Centre.

Agbere FC whitewashed Ebedebiri FC four nil to keep their aspirations of winning the trophy intact. Johnny Ebiakpo put the Agbere side on 63 minutes after a goalless first half of hostility, Godfrey Annu doubled the lead on 69 minutes from a beautiful finish.

Agbere FC continued to mount pressure on Ebedebiri FC as Iworiso Doubiyo added another on 75 minutes to make it three nil. Godfrey Annu just before the final whistle made it four nil to complete his brace after a brilliant second half performance.

Angalabiri FC at the Ebedebiri centre pipped Young Warriors one nil while Mountain of the Lord’s Deliverance Ministry, MLDM FC in the second game pummeled Indomitable FC by three goals to one to secure a place in the next round of the competition, christened Prosperity Cup.

Igoni FC at the Twon Brass Centre ended Water Strikers’ one hundred percent record in the tournament with a slim one nil victory, while Akeddei FC beat Barca FC 4-3 on penalties after a one all draw in regulation time. Bright Ebidimie put Akeddei FC in front on 11 minutes but Barca FC levelled terms on 78 minutes from Perediemo Ebike.

Earlier on Wednesday at the Sabagreia centre in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area, Sampou FC defeated King Warriors of Igbedi 5-4 on penalties after a one all draw in normal time.

Odi United in the first game beat Sabagreia FC 5-4 on penalties having shared the spoils in regulation time to stretch the game into the uncertainty of penalties.

Action will switch to Ogbia and Southern Ijaw Local Government Areas this weekend. Hummel Stars FC of Otuokpoti will battle Hope Alive FC of Otuoke on Friday at the Otuasega Centre by 3.00pm.

Dianamite FC will confront Bomoibe United on Saturday at the Eniwari centre at 2.00pm while former champions Krusaders FC will slug it out with Samba Boys FC by 3.00pm at the Ekeremor Town Centre also on Saturday.
