Lagos TESCOM Cautions Job Seekers Against Fake Recruitment Advert

Job-seekers in Lagos State have been cautioned against falling preys to a recent fake advertisement on the recruitment of teachers by the state government.
The Permanent Secretary, Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Olubusola Abidakun, warned those seeking appointment into the Lagos State Teaching Service to disregard a fake directive trending in the social media recently.
A statement made available to journalists on Sunday by the
Deputy Director, Public Affairs, TESCOM, Kayode Sutton,
stated that the fake directive, which supposedly emanated from the Commission, is to the effect that “ad-hoc staff” in the Service specializing in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Basic Technology, Physical and Health Education and Information Technology should address their employment applications to the Chairman, TESCOM and forward same to the Workforce Division, Administation and Human Resource Department on or before 20th July, 2023.
Abidakun, who affirmed that “Ad hoc Teachers” are alien in the Teaching Service, also noted that there is no one by the name, Otufodurin R.T, the signatory to the fake directive at TESCOM.
She also observed that the said Otufodurin R.T, who allegedly signed the document on behalf of a Tutor General/Permanent Secretary (TG/PS), did not specify which of the six TG/PS gave such directive.
The Permanent Secretary said recruitment into the Teaching Service is done only through the employment portal of the Commission.
She, therefore, advised those seeking appointment into the Teaching Service of the state to wait for official announcement of the opening of the portal to apply.
She warned job seekers to be wary of fraudsters as the government of Lagos State does not do clandestine recruitment.
Abidakun advised that no one should give money to anyone, as employment into the Public Service is purely based on merit.
