The New Jos stadium, will today host a game of attrition between Plateau United FC and record nine-time NPFL Champions, Enyimba Int’l FC of Aba.
The fixture is a rearranged encounter, by the regulators of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), and it will afford either of the two teams grappling for form in the nation’s top flight; the opportunity to breathe fresh energy back into their wobbling 2024/25 campaigns.
Enyimba Int’l FC, aka the People’s Elephant are Nigeria’s only team still campaign for honours on the continent; where they have fared poorly, drawing once at home against El Zamalek SC of Egypt; and lost both games played away; in Group D of the 2024/25 CAF Confederation Cup.
With two other games outstanding in the NPFL, Enyimba Int’l FC are precariously placed 12th in the table, with 22 points – 11 points off the pace of leaders Remo Stars FC; while solutions on how to end the bad patch, are begin founed.
In view of the above, victory of any of the above will be highly sought after, and the winner, by any margin; would have done enough to relieve the pressure on the players and officials of his team.
Kick-off for this one, at the Zaria Road Stadium in Jos, is 4pm.
