    Oba of Benin Cup 2024: BJ FC, Irex Sports FC, Delight FC & Rockers FC Qualify For Semifinals

    The semifinalists have emerged in the ongoing 2nd Edition of the Oba of Benin under 18 Football Tournament organise by the Edo state Football Association, following the conclusion of the Quarterfinal matches on Wednesday at the Cresent Sports club, Irhirhi, GRA, Benin City.According to the results of the quarterfinal matches, Irex Sports Fc edged hard Fighting Supreme Fc 5-4 Via kicks from the penalty mark after full time score stood goaless to book a semifinal spot, just as Edo Dynamo Sports exited the Tournament on penalties losing 5-6 to Rockets Fc after 1-1 at regulation time. In other games, Delight Fc were delighted to scale through the hurdle of Favour Fc as they go through with a 2-1 win, while BJ Fc defeated City Rovers 2-1 to reach the last four of the prestigious Football carnival in honour of the Benin Monarch, His Royal Majesty Oba Ewuare 11, the Oba of Benin.

    Meanwhile, the chairman organising committee of the Tournament Mr Paul Ojeisekhoba, who doubles as the vice chairman of the Edo state Football Association, disclose that the Semifinal matches will be decided on Friday December 20th 2024, with the closing event slated for December 26th 2024( Boxing Day) at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium, in Benin City beginning from 3pm.

    The first semifinal clash will see Irex Sports Fc trade tackles with BJ Fc by 10am, while the second semifinal slated for 12noon is between Delight Fc and Rockers Fc, both matches will hold at the Crescent Sports Club, irhirhi, GRA in Benin City.

    The annual Oba of Benin under 18 Football Tournament aimed at Discovery hidden talents in the state and also to celebrate with the Great Benin Monarch the annual Igue Festival, is sponsored by a united states of America based Ex – Nigerian Footballer, Michael Ogbebor( Obanta)
