    Oyibode Promises Logistics For Installation As Omo-Agege, Brume-Ataguba Hand Over State-of-the-art Hospital Equipment Worth N200m To Udu General Hospital

    In a significant stride toward improving healthcare delivery in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, the former Deputy Senate President, His Excellency, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and the Honourable Federal Commissioner for the National Population Commission, Hon Mrs Blessyn Brume-Ataguba have handed over vital hospital equipment worth over N200 million naira to upgrade the general hospital at Otor-Udu, with Governor of Delta state, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, represented by the Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, Olorogun (Hon.) Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode, commending the Federal Government for the gesture, particularly Hon Brume-Ataguba for effective representation of the interest of her Udu people in the government of the federation.

    Handing over the equipment at a brief ceremony which held at the hospital premises at Otor-Udu on Monday, Hon Mrs Blessyn Brume-Ataguba, who represented the former Deputy Senate President, explained that the Otor-Udu general hospital was ill-equipped to handle major health cases hence her appeal, through the office of the former Deputy Senate President, to the National Lottery Trust Fund, which quickly activated their intervention strategies and got the equipment approved and imported for the upgrade of the General hospital in Udu.

    She added that she was doing everything to attract more development to Udu and that besides the Obubu-Emadadja road which was constructed through her intervention, she was working with other relevant agencies of government to bring more dividends to the people.

    She also appealed to the people to take the registration of birth seriously because of the inherent benefits in government planning and allocation of resources to local government areas across the country.

    Chairman of the occasion, Sir S.K Panama, who was represented by High Chief Steve Sokoh, in his address, thanked Hon Mrs Blessyn Brume-Ataguba for being a worthy ambassador of Udu people in government, stressing that the sorry state of the general hospital was a major concern to all well meaning Udu sons and daughters.

    Medical Officer at the Hospital, Dr Okorume Omoefe, in her remarks, thanked the donor for the gesture, affirming that with the quality of equipment donated, the hospital was now fully equipped to handle serious medical cases, calling on government to provide the personnel to manage the equipment so as to get the best results.

    Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, Olorogun Vincent Oyibode, who represented the Governor of Delta State, commended the donors for their efforts at improving the hospital to perform better. He promised to provide the needed fund to get the equipment installed besides getting the right personnel to handle the equipment.
    He highlighted the Governor’s dedication to serving all Deltans, transcending political affiliations, and fostering unity across the state.

    The equipment donated and commissioned include a 60KVA Perkins Power generating plant, X-ray Machines, Blood banks, Ultra-sound machines, operation table for general surgery, 5 delivery beds, operation lamps, and many other sensitive hospital equipments.

    Highlight of the occasion was the official commissioning and inspection equipment by the Governor represented by Chief Vincent Oyibode and Chairman of the occasion, represented by Chief Steve Sokoh as well as other guests.

    The ceremony was witnessed by the Ovie of Udu Kingdom, represented by Chief Moses Uparan, Senator Ede Dafinone, represented by Chief Tuesday Onoge, Hon. Collins Egbetama, member representing Udu Constituency in the DTHA, Hon. Mrs. Omovie Omojevwe Najite Oputu, Vice Chairman of Udu LGC, Olorogun Austin Emaduku, HPM Ughelli South LGC and former President General, Union of Udu Communities, Mr Emore Ovie Smith, NLTF Head of Operations for the south-south, Olorogun Friday Orugbo and many others.
