    Abuja Agog for Finals of Inaugural Basic Education Schools Sports Festival (BESS 2024)

    Action in the inaugural edition of the National finals of the Basic Education School Sports (BESS 2024), will begin this morning in Abuja, following yesterday’s elaborate official opening ceremony, at the old Parade Ground area 10 Garki.

    The Competitors are champions from the preliminaries held in the six geopolitical zones of the country; and the event being hosted by the FCT Chapter of UBEC, eleven days.

    According to Director media of the Organizing Committee Madaki Bitrus Yamai, registration, screening and accreditation had been successfully completed, and the Athletes accommodated in secured facilities, in the nation’s capital.

    Yesterday’s opening ceremony featured a march pass and a football match, where Team Nasarawa defeated the FCT 4-0. But in all ten events including Football, Athletics, Handball, Table Tennis, Ayo, Scrabble and Volleyball will feature as medal winning events, at designated venues in the City Center.
