With decades of experience in the media industry, renowned media personality Bashorun Gboyega Lawal delivered an inspiring speech as the guest lecturer at the orientation exercise for the 4th batch students of Royal Sky Media Academy Ibadan, in an event recently held at the campus of the media institution.

Bashorun Lawal shared valuable advice and insights, emphasizing the importance of discipline, commitment, and professionalism in broadcasting, the art of producing effective radio jingles for commercials, and key elements of successful broadcasting, which include creativity, clarity, and concision.

The microphone wizard, however, charged the students to build a strong personal brand and reputation in the industry while advising them to develop a passion for learning and self-improvement by cultivating discipline, punctuality, and responsibility, urging them to adhere to the academy’s code of conduct and rules by conducting themselves as worthy ambassadors of Royal Sky Media Academy Ibadan.

Other speakers during the orientation exercise include Mr. Joy Akinlolu, who tutored the students on public speaking and emphasized the importance of effective communication in the media industry.

He counseled them to work on their articulation and clarity, create messages that captivate people, and practice speaking in public with confidence.

Speaking on the topic of “Introduction to Journalism and Indigenous Languages,” Mrs. Adeolami Olatunji urged the audience to be inquisitive and pursue knowledge while also comprehending the foundations of journalism and the significance of indigenous languages in the media.

During his presentation on “Broadcast Programme and Programming,” Mr. Femi Oladipo emphasized the need of coming up with original programming concepts, knowing audience preferences through efficient content creation, and keeping up with industry developments.

In his brief lecture on broadcast management, Mr. Samson Akindele, general manager of Fresh FM Nigeria, encouraged the incoming students to cultivate strategic thinking by thoroughly comprehending broadcast laws. He pushed them to promote cooperation and teamwork as well as effective resource management.

It will be recalled that Royal Sky Media Academy is the brainchild of the ace broadcaster, Enitan Olusegun Bamidele, also known as EOB, which he established in February 2023 as a training arm for his EOB Live Media outfit, and since then it has commenced admission for interested students that intend to pursue a career in radio broadcasting.
