    Transfer: Milan Get Chukwueze’s Nod

Seven-time European champions AC Milan have reportedly gotten the approval of Super Eagles star Samuel Chukwueze to proceed with transfer negotiations with Villarreal for his services.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Rossoneri hierarchy want to see Chukwueze on the right wing next season.

There have been reports suggesting that Milan want to sign Chukwueze is the favourite right now.

He is expected to cost Milan somewhere between €25 million and €30 million which is a significant outlay. Given Chukwueze only has one year left on his contract, there should be a desire from Villarreal to sell the Nigerian winger.

The Red and Blacks have identified the electric winger as a priority for the right flank of their attack as they seek to bolster their attacking department ahead of the new season.

Stefano Pioli’s side finished 20 points adrift of Napoli last season in 4th position which is a stark difference from the previous season when they won the Scudetto and are determined to bounce back next season.

Villarreal are ready to allow him leave but his massive buyout clause could be a stumbling block except they reach a compromise with AC Milan on the transfer fee.

Premier League clubs, Aston Villa and Newcastle United have also been credited with interest in the 24-year-old.

The 28-cap Nigerian International was in brilliant form last season as he bagged 13 goals and eleven assists in all competitions, his best return in the colours of the Yellow Submarine.
