    Dubem with stunning efforts wins men’s 400m at National Championships in Benin:

    Dubem Amene took the victory of the men’s 400m championship Day 3 taking place in Benin, his formidable efforts has brought him his first National title with a Personal Best (PB) and Season’s Best (SB) of 45.36s, to make him second fastest on track after Chidi Okezie with a personal outstanding best of 44.97s. Coming closer was Emmanuel Ojeli who came close to his Personal Best (PB) of 45.63s, but the agility and morality of Dubem did not give Emmanuel any chance than to make him end up behind for second place with his personal best of 45.63s in 45.69s, which made him slightly ahead of Dubem Nwachukwu with a season best of 45.70s to attain 3rd position.

    Esther wins the women’s 400m Champion at National Trials in Benin: Esther Elo Joseph the resilient champion kept her unbroken streak locally to brilliantly take the women’s 400m National title on Day 3 of the National Olympic Trials in Benin.Esther has always kept the focus to get the title under her belt so as to help in confirming her relengthless performance for local level this season.

    Esther The African Games Silver medallist aspires to keep hopes alive in Nigerians by her performance. She had everyone on a stand still to have escaped one of the champions on track Patience Okon-George over the last 20m to earn the lead with a time of 5 1.70s, very close to her Personal Best in March at the African Games 51.63s.Onyekwere winner of women’s Discus title at National Championships in Benin: Chioma Onyekwere Common wealth Games women’s Discus Champion took her 2nd National title in the women’s Discus throw with 59.43m to claim the victory, downing the African Games champion and national leader Obiageri Amaechi took the 2nd place with her mark of 59.25m.

    While Ashley Anumba with a throw of 57.00m. placed 3rd .

    Erhire wins men’s High Jump with 2nd highest jump in Nigeria all-time list: Best Erhire wins his 2nd National title in the men’s High Jump on the final day of competition at the Nigerian Olympic Trials staged in Benin with a new Personal Best (PB) of 2.25m putting all his rivals far behind, in likes of Goodluck Fiaku and Justine Jimoh, The Texas Tech Junior’s winning jump of 2.25m is the second on the Nigerian all-time outdoor list, just behind Anthony Idiata’s National Record (NR) of 2.27m. He tried breaking the NR by scaling over a height of 2.28m but failed in all three attempts. The outright Nigerian Record in the event is 2.32m.Fiaku recorded a PB of 2.18m to place 2nd while Justine Jimoh was 3rd in 2.15m.

    Sunday, Nzeakor wins 200m titles at National Championships in Benin: Israel Okon Sunday and Precious Turn winners of National titles as they crush competitors for Men and women 200mNzeakor were among the first-time winners of National titles as the pair dominated the men’s and women’s 200m respectively on Day 3 of the Olympic Trials in Benin.Sunday gave all he had to beat the defending champion Alaba Akintola, with his Personal Best (PB) of 20.80s while the latter recorded a 20.81s. And Ekanem in 20.88s took the 3rd position. Nzeakor downs Olayinka Olajide as she claims her National crown with a new Personal best of 23.14s, meanwhile Olajide maintained a personal best of 23.17s to claim 2nd surpassing Ella Onojuvwevwo who claimed the 3rd position with 23.73s like
