Nigeria’s bid to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games has taken a significant step forward with a delegation led by National Sports Commission Chairman, Mallam Shehu Dikko,NSC DG Hon. Bukula Olapade, Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) President and Intentional Olympic Commitee (IOC) Executive Committee Member Engr. Habu Gumel, NOC Vice President ,Dr Solomon Ogba, NOC Secretary General Mr. Tunde Popoola and other experts, strategist and advisors from the NSC visited the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) office in London on Tuesday August 12,2025.
The team, comprising key stakeholders from the NSC and NOC, engaged in a collaborative meeting to discuss Nigeria’s Expression of Interest (EOI), outline the country’s vision for hosting the Games.

Renewed Hope for Nigeria’s Sports Economy (RHINSE) Framework: The NSC emphasized the significance of hosting the Commonwealth Games in driving sports and economic development, aligning with the RHINSE framework’s objectives to create wealth across various pillars, including:
