Austin Okocha, former Super Eagles captain, has charged the African countries to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and emulate Morocco, who raced to the semifinal of the last Mundial in Qatar.

Jay Jay, the former Nigerian international, was reacting to the Super Eagles’ Group C which also consists of South Africa, Rwanda, Benin, Zimbabwe and Lesotho.

The former PSG player was among the legends that graced the draw in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivore.

While reacting to the draw, Okocha urges Super Eagles and other African countries to emulate Morocco.

The Atlas Lions of Morocco surprisingly reached the semi-final of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar beating countries like Spain and Portugal along the way.

“Morocco showed that an African country could win the World Cup! We must follow the example of Morocco,” he said.

Okocha appeared in the three FIFA World Cups (1994, 1998 and 2002) before retiring from the game.
