Six weeks into the 10th Assembly, award-winning member of the 10th Assembly of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt Hon Revd Francis Ejiroghene Waive has started his second term in the National Assembly with presentation of six bills in one day to send the signals that he was in the house for serious business.

Rt Hon Francis Waive, who emerged best lawmaker with the highest bills amongst first term members of the House from across the country in the 9th Assembly, started on another impressive note with the presentation of the six bills to set the tone for what to expect from him in the coming years.

The Bills are: Allocation of Revenue (Federation Account) Bill 2023; Compulsory, Free Universal Basic Education Act (Amendment Bill) 2023; Legal Practitioners Act (Amendment Bill) 2023; Prohibition of Kidnapping, Hostage Taking (Establishment Bill) 2023; Criminal Code Act (Amendment Bill) 2023 and Compulsory Treatment and Care for Victim of Gunshot wound Act (Amendment Bill) 2023.

Revd Francis Waive, who represents the Udu/Ughelli Federal Constituency in the House, also moved a motion calling on Mr President to lift the embargo on employment into the Federal Civil Service and other Ministries, Departments and Agencies of the Federal Government. The motion was taken and passed by the entire House as a matter of public interest considering the unemployment rate in the country and the pains joblessness has inflicted on the masses over the years.

He explained that the embargo on employment was necessitated by the COVID 19 pandemic a couple of years back and that with the rate of unemployment in Nigeria, government must provide jobs for the citizens to lessen the frustration in the society. The motion was duly passed by the house.

Rt Hon Revd Francis Waive was inducted into the National Assembly Hall of Fame on account of his impressive and superlative performance in the House of Representatives having emerged best in terms of number of bills by first term members and was also rated number 8 in terms of performance amongst all 360 members of the House from across the country.

Speaking on the performance of Revd Waive in the House, foremost Delta APC youth leader from Udu Local Government Area, Comrade Ese Ogboru described Revd Waive as a man who operates from too high a pedestrian than the average lawmaker, assuring that the people of Udu/Ughelli federal constituency are proud to have him as their representative.
